Rituals and Offerings

To allow devotees to be touched by Devi and her abundant grace, unique rituals designed to support individuals at every step that one takes in one’s life, from birth to death, to everything in-between, are conducted at Devi’s abode.

A set of 11 offerings are made to Linga Bhairavi thrice a day in a sacred ambience of gratitude. As an appeal for Devi’s Grace, Abhishekam can be offered on any day or to honor a special occasion.

 Daha Nivaranam
Daha Nivaranam

This arpanam is beneficial for men or women with a deep-seated desire. It involves the offering of consecrated water to the sacred banyan tree at Linga Bhairavi. The process is assisted by the powerful Stuti chant to appeal for Devi’s Grace.

Sadhana

“Sadhana” literally translates to a “tool” or an “instrument.” Learn tools to heighten your receptivity, deepen your bond with Devi, and enable her grace to guide you towards success, wellbeing and transcendence.

Thaipusam

Thaipusam, which takes place on the first full moon after the winter solstice, is traditionally seen as a day of auspiciousness and grace, which a person can make use of for their wellbeing. This day is also known as “Dhanya Purnima”, which means a full moon of fulfillment. It is a day when many siddhas, seers and Yogis chose to leave their body and attain to their ultimate nature.

Unique Architecture

Representing the very body of the feminine, the walls of Devi’s abode form an inverted triangle, symbolizing the feminine womb of creation, while a smaller triangle in the interior represents the masculine, unborn within the womb.

Purnima Procession at Coimbatore

Once a month, on full moon day, Devi comes out to make contact with the Dhyanalinga, the source of her sustenance. A grand procession of the Linga Bhairavi culminates with the Maha Arati in front of Dhyanalinga.
